History -  Timeline

1969 - The Muslim Students' Association is Established at the University of Maryland, College Park 

1969 - Jummah Khutbah Starts 

1982 - The weekly halaqa formally starts 

1982 - The MSA holds its First Elections 

1991 - The Muslim Women of Maryland (MWM) is Established 

1997 - The MSA acquires a permanent prayer room on campus 

1999 - The MSA is blessed with an Official Chaplain 

Archives

The MSA archives is open to the public. We encourage our members to learn about the history of the MSA. It is easily accessible by the MSA Cabinet and student leaders in the MSA. General MSA members must gain approval to view the archives by the Lead Archivist for the respective academic year.
