Community - Community Information

The opportunities to become involved with the Muslim Community in the Washington D.C Metro Area is not limited to the MSA at UMCP. Our MSA members are a diverse group of students who are always engaging with partner organizations in the community in order to develop leadership, connect with MSAs in the area, participate in community events, and so much more.

Here are some local organizations that have opportunities for involvement:

Muslim Interscholastic Tournament

Headquarters: University of Maryland, College Park

About: DC MIST is the MD/VA/DC region of the Muslim Interscholastic Tournament. Our mission is to bring high school students together from around the nation to develop leadership, promote communication, and inspire creativity in order to develop a strong identity. We do this through our Annual Tournament.

DC MIST believes that active high school students become active college students. Active college students become active adults within their community. We are dedicated to empowering high school students to be motivated and active within their community. By giving high school students a venue to excel in the arts, sciences, and humanities, they grow up knowing not only that they can be important members of their various communities, but important contributors (Source: http://www.dcmist.com/portal/aboutus/missiongoals/document_view).
