The opportunities to become involved with the Muslim Community in the Washington D.C Metro Area is not limited to the MSA at UMCP. Our MSA members are a diverse group of students who are always engaging with partner organizations in the community in order to develop leadership, connect with MSAs in the area, participate in community events, and so much more. Here are some local organizations that have opportunities for involvement: Muslim Women of Maryland
Headquarters: University of Maryland, College Park About: Muslim Women of Maryland (MWM) was established at the University of Maryland College Park to address the needs of the Muslim women on campus and in the community as well as create an awareness of what it truly means to be a Muslim woman. The MWM works closely with the UMCP chapter of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) to achieve common goals. The MWM has many different events to help Muslim sisters to build on Islamic Knowledge, Sisterhood, Leadership, Professionalism and so much more. Muslim Interscholastic Tournament Headquarters: University of Maryland, College Park About: DC MIST is the MD/VA/DC region of the Muslim Interscholastic Tournament. Our mission is to bring high school students together from around the nation to develop leadership, promote communication, and inspire creativity in order to develop a strong identity. We do this through our Annual Tournament. DC MIST believes that active high school students become active college students. Active college students become active adults within their community. We are dedicated to empowering high school students to be motivated and active within their community.
